Cousin’s Christmas Party

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

Sorry for the lack of posting recently – life has been hectic. Today the girls came down for our first girl’s night since November and it was really awesome to see  them all again (CONGRATS TO A CERTAIN PREGO CHICK :p)  So, I decided to try catching up on my Christmas scrapbooking and completed the 2 page spread for the Cousin’s Christmas Party (Click to enlarge)

Funny Faces

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

I haven’t done a lot of scrapbooking lately – but yesterday we had the first Girls Night in our new house and I was in the mood to scrap lol.  I had some REALLY old – like 6-7 years old – film developed recently and looking through pictures of Kahlan at 2 and 3 years old I realized this kid has always had a habit of making funny faces for the camera. So – I made this layout featuring pictures of Kahlan from ages 2 – 8, showcasing some of the faces he makes when you point the camera his way.  (Click on image to enlarge)

My Girls

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

Here is my newest layout for Tayrina’s Scrap Designs. This layout is made using Tayrina’s new Charmed Chics kit which is available from Ivy Scraps.  I love the bright, fun color palette and thought it would be a perfect kit to use to pay homage to my girls – my sisters & my friends.

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

For those who don’t know – a quick page is a premade scrapbooking page with no pictures. You open it, add your own pictures and voila – layout done!  You can add use the design as is – or add additional elements and journaling to customize.

Here’s a great example that you can download for free (click on the image)

Family Album Pages Started

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

#31 on my 101 List is to create a family history album. Basically this will be like a family tree but in scrapbook form with a page for each birth, wedding and death in the family. It will include both my family and Dave’s as the idea is to create a legacy for the kids.   I am starting with the current generations (neices/nephews, siblings, parents) and then I will start going back to grandparents, great grandparents, etc as I can find information and photos.

This week I finished six pages – you can click on the images to see them a little bigger:)

Kahlan's Page

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

One of the things on my 101 in 1001 list is to start a family scrapbook. Basically the idea is that I will have a page for each birth, wedding and death. I am starting with our siblings (both Dave and mine), our children and our nieces/nephews. Then I will do parents, grandparents, etc.

Today I did the first page and no – obviously I am not doing them in order lol. I did Kahlan’s using the Baby Love Joy kit from Tayrina’s Scrap Designs (available from IvyScraps)

2010 Olympic Torch Relay

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Yesterday the Olympic Torch Relay came through Steinbach. Ariel got to attend the ceremonies at the mall with her class and then we picked all three kids up from school over lunch to watch the torch go past our house. One of the hand offs took place half a block from our house so the kids got to enjoy watching that as well.

Yes – I stole graphics off the Olympics website lol.

Quick & Easy Gift Box

Monday, December 21st, 2009

I saw this video featured on Scraptime today and figured it was worth sharing:) It shows you how to take a piece of 12×12 scrapbooking paper, a few scraps of paper and ribbon, and turn it into a cute little gift bag. I know this will come in handy next time I forget to buy wrapping paper for one of the kids’ friends lol. It’s also a great way to use up extra papers laying around.
